Dino Hunt Dice is designed for 2 or more players and offers quick, engaging rounds. Each player takes turns rolling dinosaur-themed dice to capture various types of dinosaurs. Each of the 10 dice features icons: the dinosaurs, the footprints, and the leaves (which allow you to re-roll). If you get three footprints, you lose all points for the turn. It is basically the same as zombie dice.

On your turn, without looking, take three dice from the container and roll it. The green have the highest probability of catching a dinosaur, the yellow have the next highest probability, and it is hardest to catch a red dinosaur. My friend and I decided the first person to get to 13 points wins the game.

I am going to walk through one of my turns. I roll three dice. You then need to decide if you want to continue. If you get a leaf, you are allowed to roll again after getting a total of three dice. You can see above, that I got rolled a dinosaur, leaf and footprint.

I picked up the leaf, and got 2 more dice, so I would be rolling three dice. I separated the footprints to the right and the dinosaurs to the left. You can see above, I rolled a dinosaur, leaf, and footprint. If I got another footprint, I would lose all points from the dinosaurs I caught, but I decided to continue on.

Before continuing, I separated the dinosaurs to the left, the footprints to the right. I picked up the leaf and gathered 2 more dice and rolled them. See the next image to see what I rolled.

I was so excited that I am getting more dinosaurs. I still am one footprint away from losing all points in this round, but I decided to keep going. I grabbed one die out of the container and rolled again.

After organizing my dice from the roll, I am very grateful I haven’t rolled a third footprint. While I have 2 leaves and can roll again, I decided that this would be a good place to stop.

The above photo has the final results from this round. I got 4 points since I captured 4 dinosaurs. I write that down on our tally sheet and my friend gets to roll their turn. We played 5 rounds and my friend won the Ultimate Dino Hunter title!

One thing I love about these Steve Jackson dice games is that they don’t require reading, which makes the games accessible to the youngest players. This is a great family friendly game for kids of all ages.
