In the beguiling world of NOX, each of us embarks on a journey with just three cards in hand. This is our initial tools in the craft of conjuring bone piles. The heart of our quest in NOX beats with the goal to masterfully build six bone piles that include each of the three distinct colors of cards.

Not only can we create a pile, but we also hold the power to play a card to one of our existing piles, strengthening our position. Yet, the true spice of NOX comes from our ability to place a card in another’s pile, a move as bold as it is strategic. This act of crossing into another’s territory might just trigger an event that causes two piles to merge, altering the landscape of the game.

You can see from the example above when I play a 2 card on top of the 14 bone pile, something very cool happens. The piles combine, transforming from five piles to only four piles.

The winner of each round is the clever soul who first crafts six bone piles, skillfully dodging any sneaky attempts to be thwarted by fellow players. The ultimate victory? It’s claimed by the first to amass 150 points, a pinnacle of strategic prowess and joyous triumph. Here is what six bone piles for a total of 31 points would look like.
