The Slide Rule: Privacy Policy

What we collect

Nothing. The Slide Rule does not collect, transmit or share any personal information. It has no account, no sign-in, and no analytics. It never connects to the network.

What stays on your computer

The application keeps your settings, your lesson progress and your recent calculations in a single file in your own user folder. That file never leaves your computer unless you export it yourself. You can export it or import it from the Settings dialog, and inside the application you can clear the calculation list from Modern mode and reset any lesson’s progress from Learn mode. The About section of the Settings dialog shows where the file is, and removing the file removes everything the application has kept. Uninstalling the application does not send it anywhere.

Purchases

If you bought The Slide Rule from the Microsoft Store, the purchase is handled by Microsoft under Microsoft’s own privacy statement. We receive no personal details from it.

Children

The application is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
