The ruins are falling down behind you
A cheerful axolotl is running through the ruins, and they are coming apart with every step. Axolotl Dash is a bright, simple endless runner built for short, happy sessions. Pick it up for four minutes, put it down, come back tomorrow and beat yourself.
Four swipes, three lanes
Tap the screen to start running. Swipe left or right to move between the three lanes, swipe up to jump, swipe down to duck. That is the entire control scheme, and it is the same on the first run as on the hundredth.
Smash the sandstone, dodge the granite
Cracked sandstone blocks are safe. Run straight through them and take the points. Gray granite is not, and hitting one ends the run. Jump the low rubble, duck under the fallen stone beams, and read the ruins ahead of you a little faster each time.
Nothing to memorize first
The first time each new kind of obstacle appears, the game stops and tells you what to do about it. There is no tutorial to sit through and no manual to read. You learn the ruins by running them.
Golden relics
Relics are scattered through the ruins, sometimes right in your lane and sometimes somewhere that will cost you to reach. They are earned only by playing. Nothing in this game can be bought.
Made for small hands
- Four swipes and a tap. No buttons to hunt for, no menus to learn.
- A failed run ends with the axolotl sitting up dazed. Nothing upsetting, nothing lost.
- Turn the tablet either way. It plays in both portrait and landscape.
- Pause with one tap, or the tablet’s Back button. A short countdown eases you back in.
- Sound off is a single tap, and the choice is remembered next time.
No ads. No purchases. No internet.
No advertising of any kind, and no in-app purchases. Nothing in the game costs money at any point. There is no account to create and no way to sign in. The game does not request the internet permission from your tablet at all, so it cannot go online even in the background. It plays exactly the same on a plane, in a car, and anywhere the signal has given up.
Your score stays yours
Your best run, your relic count, and your sound setting are saved on the tablet itself. They are never sent anywhere, we never see them, and uninstalling the game deletes them.
Which tablets it runs on
Axolotl Dash needs a Fire tablet running Fire OS 7 or newer: the Fire HD 8 from 2018 on, the Fire HD 10 from 2019 on, and the Fire 7 from 2019 on. Older tablets on Fire OS 5 cannot install it. To check yours, open Settings, then Device Options, then System Updates.
To install, open the Appstore app on your tablet, search for Axolotl Dash, and tap Get. There is nothing to set up afterward and no extra downloads.
