How to play
- Tap the screen to start your run.
- Swipe left or right to move between the three lanes.
- Swipe up to jump the low rubble.
- Swipe down to duck under the fallen stone beams.
- Smash the cracked sandstone for points. It is safe to run straight through.
- Dodge the gray granite. Hitting one ends the run.
- Collect the gold relics along the way.
A prompt appears the first time each new kind of obstacle shows up, so there is nothing to learn before you start.
Does the game cost anything, or have purchases inside it?
No. There are no in-app purchases and no advertising. Nothing in the game costs money at any point. Relics are earned only by playing, and everything they unlock is earned the same way.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. Axolotl Dash works completely offline. The game does not request the internet permission from your tablet at all, so it cannot go online even in the background.
Is it safe for children?
Yes. There are no ads, no purchases, no chat, no sign-in, and no data collection. There is no link anywhere in the game that leads out to a browser or a store. A failed run ends with the axolotl sitting up dazed, not with anything upsetting.
It will not install on my Fire tablet
Axolotl Dash needs Fire OS 7 or newer. Older tablets run Fire OS 5 and cannot install it: the 2015 and 2017 Fire 7, the 2016 and 2017 Fire HD 8, and the 2015 and 2017 Fire HD 10. To check your version, open Settings, then Device Options, then System Updates.
How do I turn the sound off?
Tap the pause button in the top-left corner, then tap the sound button to switch it off. The setting is remembered next time you play. The game is fully playable with the sound off. Nothing important is told to you by sound alone.
How do I pause?
Tap the pause button in the top-left corner, or press the Back button on your tablet. When you resume, a short countdown gives you a moment to get ready rather than throwing you straight back into the run. The game also pauses by itself if you switch to another app.
Where is my progress saved? Can I move it to another tablet?
Your best score, your relic count, and your sound setting are saved on the tablet itself. They are not linked to an account, so they cannot currently be transferred between devices. Uninstalling the game removes them.
My progress disappeared
This normally means the game was uninstalled and reinstalled, or the tablet cleared the saved data. Because nothing is stored on our side, we cannot restore a lost score. Sorry.
The controls feel unresponsive
Try a slightly longer, firmer swipe rather than a short flick, and check that nothing is resting on the screen. If it still feels wrong, please write to us and tell us which tablet you have. That feedback is genuinely useful.
Reporting a problem
Email support@gameshoutout.com and, if you can, include:
- which tablet you have, for example Fire HD 8, 2022,
- your Fire OS version, from Settings, Device Options, System Updates,
- what happened, and what you expected instead,
- what you were doing just before it happened,
- a screenshot or short video, if you have one.
That detail makes a problem far quicker to track down.
Refunds and purchases
The game is sold through the Amazon Appstore, so purchases, receipts, and refunds are handled by Amazon under their policy rather than by us. If Amazon has already taken care of it and something is still wrong, email us anyway and we will help however we can.
Accessibility and feedback
If something about the game is hard to see, hard to hear, or hard to control, please tell us. We would rather hear about it than not.
