Summer has officially tiptoed into the meadow, bringing with it soft breezes, long days, and the most delightful kind of chaos — family! This June, my little cottage will echo with giggles, snack-time negotiations, and the clatter of game pieces as my young niece and nephew come to stay for a few weeks of fun.
There’s nothing quite like sharing the magic of tabletop games with children. Their joy is unfiltered, their imaginations unbound, and their rules… well, sometimes a little flexible. But that’s part of the adventure, isn’t it?
We’ll be diving into classics like Candy Land, where the path is paved with peppermint dreams, and balancing towers in Jenga, one wobble and giggle at a time. And who knows — there may even be a few surprise visits from the Pretty Pretty Princess or a spin around the cherry tree in Hi Ho! Cherry-O.
This month on the blog, I’ll be sharing our tiny triumphs, silly rules, and the beautiful ways little hands and big hearts experience games. Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, or playful soul looking for lighter tabletop fare, I hope these stories bring a smile and perhaps inspire a game or two of your own.
So come sit with me on the quilt under the apple tree. Let’s open the boxes, set up the boards, and remember what it’s like to see the world through little eyes — filled with wonder, curiosity, and just enough mischief to keep things interesting.
Here’s to a June full of joy, jellybeans, and just one more turn.
