Villainous is a strategic board game designed for 2-6 players, each assuming the role of a Disney Villain. Each villain has unique deck of cards, a distinct player board, and special objectives that align with their story from the films. So if Prince John is playing. That player puts the cards and the white Fate cards, played by other people, in front of them.

Each character in Villainous has a personal deck and a goal that captures the essence of their story:

• Maleficent must place a curse on each of her four realms.
• Captain Hook is on a hunt to defeat Peter Pan at the Jolly Roger.
• Ursula needs to collect the Trident and Crown to control the seas.
• Jafar must find the Lamp and hypnotize the Sultan to become the ruler of Agrabah.
• Queen of Hearts aims to have a croquet game using her card guards as hoops before anyone else.
• Prince John greedily collects Power tokens to replicate his wealth.

Players take turns moving their villain to different locations on their boards, performing actions such as drawing cards, playing cards, and enacting various strategies to hinder their opponents while advancing their own agendas. Actions can include gaining power, playing Villain cards, moving Heroes to thwart other villains, and more. This is what each of the symbols on the board mean.
