Disney Villainous Perfectly Wretched Review – Expansion with Cruella and Mother Gothel

In the enchanting realm of board games, where fairy tales collide with strategy, Disney Villainous: Perfectly Wretched emerges as a captivating twist on the tales we all know and love. This time, it’s not about the heroes; it’s all about the villains’ quest for dominance, each with their own sinister agendas. I had the delight of embodying Cruella De Vil, while my niece took on the role of Mother Gothel, making for a deviously fun game night. All of the photos are of my game pieces.

In every game, each character has their own mission. As Cruella, my heart’s set on corralling a whopping 99 puppies. Each round, I’m either nabbing these adorable pups directly or scheming ways to sweep more into my clutches later on. The Cruella character comes with puppy cards in the below images.

Each player assumes the role of a Disney Villain. Each villain has unique decks of cards and objectives that reflect their story from the Disney films. The game includes colorful, intricate figures representing each villain, which players move across their own player boards, each illustrating locations from their respective stories.

The core of the game involves strategic maneuvering around these locations to perform actions such as drawing cards, playing cards, and thwarting opponents. Players draw from a shared Fate Deck which can unleash heroes to hinder their foes. Each of the icons in each section have different things that can be done during a turn. Here is what each Action means.

The ultimate goal is to fulfill your villain’s unique objective before anyone else. In our first round, I maneuvered Cruella to The Countryside to gather more Henchmen cards, essential for capturing those infamous puppies. Look how beautiful the cards are.

This game stands out for its character-specific narratives into gameplay, offering a fresh experience for each villain. The artwork and components are nothing short of a visual feast, with each piece and card thoughtfully designed to immerse players in the Disney universe. Here are a couple of cards to show you how wonderful the themed art is in the game.

My allies were key to clinching the victory, often requiring activation to harness their full potential. Notably, Jasper played a crucial role in leading me to triumph.

The interplay of strategy and chance, coupled with the interactive mechanics of interfering with opponents’ plans, makes each play through dynamic and thrilling. It’s a game that not only challenges the mind but also tickles the imagination, perfect for Disney fans and strategic game lovers alike.
