What a thrilling and heroic adventure, Tiny Epic Defenders turned out to be! Every turn was filled with choices that had me on the edge of my seat—should I rush to save a crumbling region or prepare for the next wave of enemies? The cooperative nature of the game really drew me in, as my friends and I worked together to fend off danger and protect our beloved kingdom from ruin. Don’t let the small box fool you—this game packs an epic punch. With our kingdom under siege, my friends and I took up arms to defend the Capital City from relentless waves of enemies. From the very first turn, the stakes were high, and the tension only grew as we fought to protect our realm from total destruction.

The box may be small, but it’s brimming with everything you need for an epic defense. It has:

• 6 Hero Cards: Each hero comes with unique abilities that help you strategize and survive the relentless onslaught.
• 7 Region Cards: These represent the various locations in the kingdom, including the Capital City, that you’ll be protecting.
• Enemy Deck: Filled with threats ranging from minions to devastating epic foes, the enemies increase in strength as the game progresses.
• Defender Tokens: These are used to track the state of each region, ensuring that they don’t fall to the enemy.
• Action Cards: These determine which regions will be attacked and when the heroes can take their turns.

Setup is fairly simple. We placed the Capital City card in the middle of the table, surrounded by the six region cards. Each of us chose a hero and received our corresponding hero card and special abilities. The enemy deck was shuffled and placed next to the board, with the action deck prepared and ready to dictate the flow of the game. We were all set for battle!

In Tiny Epic Defenders, players work together to fend off enemy attacks and prevent the regions from falling to chaos. Each round, the action deck is drawn one card at a time, which will either activate enemy attacks or give the players a chance to take actions. The enemies target specific regions, and players must rush to defend them before they are overrun. Below were the health counters for me and my opponent.

These Heroes can move between regions to defend them from attacks or prepare for an incoming threat. Players can reduce the damage done to regions by defending them when the enemy strikes. In addition, each hero has unique abilities that allow them to mitigate damage, heal regions, or manipulate the enemy deck in various ways.

A few plays in, the Forest was under attack! I was unable to defend the Forest, and it got taken. The game builds toward an epic showdown with the final boss, the Epic Foe, who emerges from the enemy deck after the heroes have successfully survived multiple waves of enemies. To win, players must defeat the Epic Foe while ensuring that at least one region remains standing.

The game does a fantastic job of creating a grand sense of scale within such a tiny box. The variety of heroes and their unique abilities kept things fresh, and the increasing intensity of the enemy attacks made each round more challenging than the last. By the time the Epic Foe appeared, we were fully immersed in the battle, strategizing and working together to claim victory.
