Gimme Gimme Guinea Pigs is one of the cutest games I have played. I am always on the lookout for a game for non-readers. I played this game with my 4-year-old niece. This game is ideal for the choice for family game night with the little ones. The game is simple enough for young children to understand yet engaging enough to keep adults entertained. Just look at these cute animal cards you will be collecting.

Each card in the game features adorable illustrations of small animals like guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, and more. These cards are vibrant and appealing, perfectly sized for little hands to manage.

The deck has lots of cute animals and three Paws cards. These require each player to pass the cards. Since I was playing with such a young kiddo that couldn’t read, I removed those three cards from our game.

To start, each player is dealt seven cards and the rest of the cards are placed face down on the table. The goal is to collect seven cards with the same cute animal on it. On your turn, you can either draw a face down card on the table or a collect a face up table that another player discarded.

In our game, my initial hand had four hamsters and three rabbits.

On my first turn, I drew a hedgehog.

My next couple of turns were positive because I got two hamsters, making it six hamsters. Feeling lucky, I decided to discard a guinea pick, hoping to draw into more hamsters.

I finally go the seventh hamster on the same turn that my niece got her final cat, so we tied!

Gimme Gimme Guinea Pigs turned out to be an absolute hit with my niece! The rules were straightforward enough for her to follow along and actively participate without feeling overwhelmed. The gameplay is fast-paced, keeping everyone on their toes and engaged throughout. What really stands out is the artwork; each animal card is just bursting with character, which not only attracted my niece but also made the game visually enjoyable.
