Today, I’m diving into the world of Rise of the Robotariat, a game that challenges not just your strategic skills but also tugs at your revolutionary spirit!

This game comes with a Game Board and 1 Bookkeeping Board. These are the main stages of our robotic uprisings.

Character Cards and Standees: Choose from 11 different robots, each with unique abilities. NPC Pieces: These include 3 Black (Human Oppressors) and 3 Red (Civilian Robots) which interact with the players throughout the game.

Dice: One red for Civilian Robot movement and one black for Human Oppressor movement—because even robots rely on a bit of chance! Various Decks: Including Upgrade, Sabotage, and Secret Objective decks which add depth and unpredictability to the game. Here is an example of the upgrade cards.

In Rise of the Robotariat, you’re not just playing a game; you’re igniting a revolution. Gameplay is split into two distinct phases. The first is the Building the Revolution phase where players move between locations on the board, activating spaces to gather resources and recruit more robots. You’ll draw and play cards that either help your cause or sabotage the humans’ efforts to suppress your rebellion.

The game ends after six rounds. Success hinges on accumulating enough SPARK and maintaining your Reputation. If you manage these resources well, the revolution succeeds. However, achieving your secret personal objective is what cements your status as a legendary figure in this new robot-dominated world. You maneuver around the board, you’ll interact with NPC pieces that either aid or hinder your progress. Civilian Robots can offer SPARK, enhancing your resources, while Human Oppressors might reduce them or tear down your hard-earned progress. Rise of the Robotariat is more than just a board game; it’s a narrative experience wrapped in strategic gameplay. The blend of cooperative objectives with individual secret goals adds a layer of intrigue and potential betrayal that keeps every player engaged and on their toes. The thematic depth is particularly impressive, making each session not just a game, but a story unfolding.
