Push

To set up Push, we simply shuffle this deck and place it within everyone’s reach, forming the draw pile. Each player starts with an open space in front of them to accumulate their scored cards through the game.

On your turn, you draw cards one by one from the deck, deciding after each draw whether to Push your luck by drawing more or to stop and secure your pile. The catch is you must carefully manage the risk of drawing cards of the same color, which could bust your turn, forcing you to forfeit the precious cards you’ve drawn. As you hesitate, deciding whether to draw again, you feel the thrill of chance and the weight of decision. This is one of my turns. I had these three piles. I decided to take the first pile.

My friend then was forced to choose between the remaining two piles. The dice cards mean that they have to roll the dice and then get rid of the pile of that color. They chose the pile with 2, the dice card, 6 1 and 4. They then rolled and had to relinquish all of their purple cards that had not been stored.

Push by Ravensburger was so much fun that we played three games last night. The game’s brilliance lies not in complex rules or elaborate setups but in the pure, unadulterated joy of shared moments, of risks taken, and of fortunes won and lost in the blink of an eye. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the greatest adventures lie not in the destination but in the journey, in the push and pull of chance and choice.

So, to all who yearn for a game that captures the essence of joy, strategy, and the thrill of the unknown, Push awaits. May your draws be lucky, your choices wise, and your gaming table always a haven of laughter and camaraderie.
